Fermlab is my award-winning M.Arch. school project I completed in Fall 2018 at the Newschool of Architecture & Design. This project won Second Place at the C.A.S.H. 2019 Student Design Awards. I am very proud of this project as it was fueled by my passion and intimate knowledge of the San Diego craft beer scene. The design was drafted and 3D modeled in Rhino software, while renderings were done through Lumion.
Below you will find the 10 slides that I submitted to C.A.S.H., by which I earned my award. They tell the story of Fermlab, which would open in East Village San Diego, CA as the world's first holistic brewing and fermentation school. The ground floor is dedicated to large-scale brewing operations and a commercial garden bar and restaurant featuring food and drinks brewed by the school's students. The second and third floors are dedicated to liquid and food fermentation education, respectively, while a rooftop garden provides "Roof to Table" sustainable food practices.
